THE HIGHLIGHT OF A TRIP ON THE VILLACH ALPINE ROAD: The wonders of nature in the heart of the Dobratsch with grandiose views of the largest rockslide zone in the eastern Alps on the southern flank of the Dobratsch, created by two tremendous earthquakes. The “Red Wall” observation platform with a magnificent view of the Karawanken and Julian Alps (Parking Lot 6). Observation station “Sun trails“ – a brand new experience for visitors on the Rosstratte: a work of art made of stone monoliths, a Nebra sky disk and a sundial, where you can tell the season, month, day and hour by reading the sun (Parking Lot 11). The ornithological distinctions include the flight of 5,000 honey buzzards at the end of August. “Rulers of the Skies” exhibition at the Aichinger Lodge.
